Endometriosis Institute
W. Paul Dmowski, M.D., Ph.D., one of the Founding Partners of Reproductive Medicine Institute, has been practicing infertility in the Chicagoland area since 1971. Dr. Dmowski is Board Certified both in Reproductive Endocrinology and Immunology pand in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Dmowski is well recognized nationally and internationally for his pioneering research in the fields of Reproductive Endocrinology and Immunology. He has published more than 300 original articles, textbooks, and textbook chapters. Since 1981, Dr. Dmowski has been a Tenured Professor of OB/GYN at Rush Medical College in Chicago.
In 1983, Dr. Dmowski established, and for many years directed, one of Chicago's first in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center; then five years later, a second IVF program at Lincoln Park Hospital (formerly Grant Hospital) of Chicago.
Dr. Dmowski has maintained dedicated interest and research in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Immunology and the study of Endometriosis. During the 1980s, Dr. Dmowski evaluated and helped introduce into the treatment of endometriosis a group of hormones classified as GnRH agonists.
In order to better coordinate basic and clinical research, Dr. Dmowski founded the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Endometriosis (Endometriosis Institute) in 1988. Ongoing research at the Endometriosis Institute is focused on identifying the cause of endometriosis and on discovering better diagnostic techniques and treatment methods.
